An Update on the 2025 EMI and PEP

Emily Rounds

Since we last ran the Price-to-Earnings Premium (PEP) and Economic Mobility Index (EMI) in 2024, the Department of Education has not updated the College Scorecard with new earnings data—a key variable for calculating our metrics. Our goal is to always provide the most updated data possible, and we will continue to monitor the Scorecard and run the next dataset as soon as possible.

For now, please continue to use the 2024 data provided on this website. While PEP values and EMI tiers do change year-to-year, those changes are not drastic. The 2024 analyses are still reliable indicators of an institution’s return on investment and the economic mobility that an institution provides for its students.

Please reach out to us if you have questions about the data, would like to know more about how your state or institution performs on our metrics, or if you would like any custom analyses completed for your state or institution system.
